Field note 1: a new home, a new way to give
The first field note. One a month, on the first weekday of the month.
What changed
The Foundation has a new website: a Give page with four monthly levels (Listener, Photographer, Tracker, Network Builder), a Wildlife page with one sourced fact per species, and an Impact page that lists every technology placement with partner and purpose.
What we posted
The first species series on Instagram is the elephant: six photographs from Zimbabwe and one number from the Great Elephant Census, the 30 percent loss between 2007 and 2014. World Rhino Day on September 22 brings the rhino series: Africa lost 516 rhinos to poachers in 2024.
What we are funding
The first monthly supporters fund the first placement: sensors and camera traps with a field partner in the Zambezi region. The Impact page gets its first row when the units are in the ground.
